1921or '22 Sheaffer's in Black Lined Hard Rubber.
This is a Pre-White Dot Lifetime Sheaffer's that was
only made for about 2 years. It is a lever fill, and the nib is a smooth writing "Manifold" Fine (No Flex).
There are a few very light bite marks around the
barrel end, which are not readily noticeable. It also has a scuff mark at the top edge of the cap. *See pic*
The pen has very light discoloration. It has a new ink
sac, but I have not buffed the exterior. The gold filled trim has no brassing, and the barrel imprint is sharp.
The condition is VG +

Sheaffer's standard full size Balance pen in Carmine Red. This is the
size just under that of the oversize "Premier" model. As you can see it is a Lifetime White Dot. The pen has a number of small damage marks. Which are all fairly minor, and I have tried to minimize, but they should be taken into consideration. There are some light scratches on the clip, a shallow diagonal dent across the cap band (which can be seen in the picture), there is a repaired area of damage on the blind end cap, and a repaired crack on the cap lip. Also the barrel is lightly ambered and the color in it is less vibrantly colored than the cap. There is also what appears to be a tiny mark from pliers on one tine of the nib *See Picture* There is no brassing on the gold filled trim and the barrel imprint is good. The pen fills to capacity and writes well. This is a rod type plunger fill system. The nib is a 2 tone Extra Fine. It would make a good everyday user. I have taken its flaws into account in pricing. The overall condition is Good+. |

1940's Sheaffer's Tuckaway model in cocoa/saddle brown. These
are interesting pens. On the short side, but the same diameter as a full size Sheaffer's Triumph. This one measures 4 7/16 inches or 11.4 cm capped. The only damage is a 2 to 3 mm flat spot next to the rounded part at the top of the cap. The cap is stainless steel with gold filled trim. The clips on these are very short, but spring loaded and grasp a pocket very securely. As you can see in the picture, the filling unit is an internal plunger type, sometimes refered to a "rod filler". The plunger is only partially extended in the picture. The barrel imprint is sharp and deep. The Triumph nib is an Extra Fine. The overall condition is Very Good +. |

Late 1940's Sheaffer's Tuckaway in Burgundy/Maroon. The nib is a
2 tone Fine Triumph. It is an exceptionally smooth writing nib!
There are a few very light peck marks on the stainless steel cap that
were slightly too deep to remove, but they are barely noticeable with the naked eye. There is also about a 2 mm flat spot towards the top rounded area of the cap. Also there are a few light teeth marks on the blind end cap. The pen fills and writes very well. There is no brassing on the gold filled trim. This is a Touchdown fill system with an ink sac. *See picture of partially extended plunger tube below*
The condition is Very Good.

Circa 1934 Sheaffer's oversize Lifetime White Dot Balance in
black and white pearl. This what I would classify as a "user grade" pen. There is brassing at the top and ball of the clip, and some areas on the cap band. There is one repaired cap lip crack that has been chemically welded. If you purchase this pen, I would suggest that you not post the cap on the end of the barrel. The ambering in the plastic is obvious. The nib is a smooth writing 14K Medium Lifetime. I have taken the condition of the pen into consideration in pricing.
